The Kenny Vines Memorial Billfish Tournament, more affectionately known as the "KV", was held on Friday and Saturday September 15 & 16th, 2023 in beautiful Orange Beach, Alabama hosted by the Orange Beach Sportfishing Club (OBSC) at Tacky Jacks Orange Beach in honor of the late Mr. Kenny Vines - a true conservationist and passionate fisherman. On hand were a plethora of anglers, teams, Ms. Ellen Peel from The Billfish Foundation, and five IGFTO Observers, including yours truly, that participated both ashore and afloat during this two-day annual tournament which boasted 23 boats/teams. We are pleased to announce the results:
Billfish Catch and Release:
No qualifying.
Wahoo:
Matt Welch 30.4# (Bunch A Nuts).
Swordfish:
Scott Arthur 75# (Totally Different).
Nolan Berry 40# (Totally Different).
Tuna:
Adam Lee 70.6# (Jeff's Boat).
Scott Arthur 46.6# (Totally Different).
Shawn Hall 20# (Totally Different).
Dolphin:
Austin Moore 26.6# (4th Quarter).
Top Boat:

We are tentatively scheduling next year's KV for mid-to-late September 2024; stay tuned to social medial for updates.
