We are continually updating our IGFTO.org website to make it more useful to you and the public, here are some of the things we’ve done this quarter to improve the experience.
We've placed a reminder on the log in screen to remind you to use your IGFTO.org email address to log in to the site.
We’ve added a sign-up for new observer to take the OTC or Observer Training course. By clicking on “JOIN IGFTO” and scrolling down there are two buttons for the potential new observer. If you know of someone that would like to take the OTC they can click on the “Register for the OTC Course and Join IGFTO” button where they can choose the location of the next available OTC.
Here is the new feature we are most excited about. The ability to easily post comments and pictures of your most recent experiences while observing.
After logging into the IGFTO.org website, click on “MEMBERS” in the menu. At the top of the list is “Add a Blog Post” fill in a title and a brief summary of your post. Then write your content to what you want to post. After that there is a button to “Choose File” where you can select a photo from on your phone or computer that will upload and become part of your post. To complete the process the “Submit” button must be clicked. Now don’t get upset if your post doesn’t appear right away on the home page of the website. This is because someone else needs to review it because it’s on the home page before the public gets to see it. Now here is the best part. After the post appears on the home page it is also posted on Facebook and Twitter.
Member Jeff Wells is working on a phone app that will allow you to post directly. No date has been set for the release of the app.
